Rare Spanish Movie Poster from Monsieur Beaucaire

This is a fantastic, rare version of a Spanish Movie Poster from the film Monsieur Beaucaire. It is an elegant, artistic rendition of Valentino from the film. This particular poster would be extremely valuable and highly sought after. It is not uncommon for some of the original movie posters to sell for five figures at auction. So, you may want to check Grandma's attic!

  1. Oh this is nice. I like the almost Leutrec quality of it.

  2. Toulouse-Lautrec? If his prints were of 18th century court life instead of decadent fin de siecle Paris they may have looked similar to this...

  3. I just really enjoy this poster and the artistic craftsmanship that this poster exudes. Could you imagine having a professionally framed 27x41 original poster such as this hanging in your home? I would have to put up a mission impossible laser security grid around it!

  4. Another artist this reminds me of Charles Dana Gibson. Yes ana I agree with that point. I look at this, and I hear court music and opera.

  5. Definitely would have more homeowner's insurance if I owned something like this. Of course, I'd have to win the lottery first.

Ah yes, Chris it does look more like the elegance of Gibson. You know I always fancied myself a Gibson Girl. Not really.

  6. I love Gibson. It's taking everything I have in me to keep from lapsing into art talk!

  7. I just aquired a Rudolph Valentino movie poster from A sainted Devil dated 1924 lower right corner. Portal Publication in the lower left corner Famous Players Lusky Corp along the bottom middle. How can I tell if this really is an original poster?

  8. Portal Publications made various re-issue posters in the 60's and 70's. They reproduced about 20-25 different classic movie posters including A Sainted Devil. Unfortunately, they were massed produced and fairly easy to still find. However, they are great for framing and most of them including yours, have vibrant colors which makes great decor pieces.
