The is a great variation of a movie poster from the 1925 film, The Eagle. This appears to possibly be a half sheet. This film had many fantastic variations of movie art depicted on posters. This was Valentino's 3rd to last film. He starred as Vladimir Dubrovsky, a Russian solider. I feel it is one of Valentino's finer films. I do not think this film gets the credit it deserves amongst Valentino's work. The film had action, great acting, and a solid storyline. Valentino's acting performance, I feel, is amongst his best. This poster is a fantastic piece, it is a fairly rare variation. Would love to own this one myself.

Photos of Valentino from The Eagle
These are five photos from the 1925 film, The Eagle. Even though this was a period film, it had a very modern feel to it. For me, it seemed to showcase what moviegoers had to look forward to with the upcoming talkies. It seemed to be a film showcased on a grand scale, with Valentino carrying the film with a great cast including Vilma Banky, Louise Dresser, and Albert Conti. This would have been the type of film I could have imagined Valentino starring in as a talkie. One where he, as the lead, would have to pull off an accent. This was released just 9 months before his death and 11 months before The Jazz Singer. I still feel Valentino would have made it in the talkies. I often think about a comparison from this to Elvis making it in the 80's. Even though Elvis was older, I find it interesting to think about and compare the two. The 80's, introduced MTV in the music world, imagine Elvis making videos for MTV. Anyway, I digress, I am a big fan of both and think they would have made it in the next step of technology/advancements in their fields.

Italian Book Edition from The Eagle
This is a fantastic Italian movie tie in book from The Eagle. I am a big book collector and would love to own this one! The overseas editions always seem to have unique covers and artwork and are more difficult to come across. Unfortunately, I know nothing about this book, only that I came across the photo and would love to own it. Another great piece to look for!

The Eagle Movie Poster
This is a unique poster from the 1925 film, The Eagle. I am unsure of it's origins, along with what country it is from, or for that matter if it was actually used to promote the film. It has a bit of an abstract feel to it. It is possible it was used for a film festival, or it simply could just be an artful interpretation. If anyone has any information, feel free to contact me. I simply wanted to share it and add another piece to the list of various collectibles out there!

Under the Double Eagle Sheet Music
As many of you know Sheet Music is one of my Valentino addictions. When I first start out collecting, it was one of the cheapest collectibles to buy. Often times they are from the 20's, with vibrant colors and unique artwork. This particular example I would guess to be from the 60's or 70's. It's titled "Under the Double Eagle." This is not a common piece, but not extremely valuable either. Simply another piece of sheet music to add to the collection.

Glass Slide from The Eagle
This is a Glass Slide from the 1925 film, The Eagle. As I have stated with other Glass Slide posts, these are difficult to find without cracks or chips. Most of these were hand painted. While these were in use, I am sure no one ever considered these to be collectibles one day, as with most things we collect today. Valentino Glass Slides are still very desirable and in good condition can be quite valuable.

Rare Movie Poster from The Eagle
This is a rare variation of a movie poster, a 6 sheet from the 1925 film, The Eagle. A six sheet is like 6 movie posters that create one gigantic poster! This variation features unique art work not often seen from the film. this is from the original 1925 release. This would be a valuable and sought after poster. This would look great framed in my Valentino room, however, a 6 sheet would need to be hung on the side of my house or possible on my roof, that way it would show up on Google Earth!

The Eagle Newspaper Advertisement
The is a newspaper ad from the film, The Eagle from 1925. This ad is actually not from 1925, most likely from the 1930's re-release. Many of these newspaper ads are more common than you think. These are not very valuable, just great pieces to add to the collection.

Newspaper Advertisement for The Eagle
This is a great newspaper clipping, advertising The Eagle. It is from the re-release, because it states modernized with music and sound. I like the three photos of Valentino in the ad showcasing him in three different costumes / scenes from the film. These clippings are a great, reasonable way to get your collection started, they also look great framed if you room on your wall, which of course I do not!

German Magazine from The Eagle
This is a 1926 German magazine called Film Kurier. It features Valentino on the cover from the film, The Eagle. I find this to be a fantastic magazine. There does not seem to be too many vintage German items out there. I am still looking for this one myself.

1926 Theater Program from The Eagle
This is a Theater Program from the Lyric Theater from the week of January 11th, 1926. This program is for the film, The Eagle. Notice the photo is not from The Eagle. I am sure many theaters used templates over and over for the same actors; but different films. These are not too rare, the more desirable programs are from well known theaters.
Hello to all, sorry for my hiatus. I have been busy with a million other things. I hope everyone had a great summer and I hope everyone has found a few new items for their collections. Most of the websites have been pretty slow out there, but the holidays are coming up and will be here before you know it! I am looking forward to your comments and emails!

Rare Eagle Three Sheet Movie Poster
This is a fantastic three-sheet movie poster from the film, "The Eagle." A three-sheet poster is three separate posters used to create one giant poster. This poster is obviously in terrible shape; however, I am sure would still be worth thousands. I find the two images of Valentino one as the Russian Soldier and one as The Black Eagle to be fantastic. A rare and wonderful poster! I found this image on emovieposter.com

Colorized Photos of Valentino Behind the Scenes
I came across these fantastic photos from a blog called, "Old Hollywood in Color." I emailed the administrator of the site, Bob, to get his permission to post a few of the photos. I find them to be fantastic. I think it is great to see a color photo of Valentino, these are especially interesting because they are behind the scenes photos. Photos are included from: A Sainted Devil, Beyond the Rocks, The Eagle, and The Son of the Sheik. Check out his site: http://oldhollywoodincolor.com/

The Eagle French Cine Revue Magazine
This is a great French magazine from 1926 depicting a scene with Valentino from the film, "The Eagle." This is a fantastic photo from the film, it makes him look like a Russian leader of some sorts. I feel The Eagle is one of Valentino's best performances. It tends to get over shadowed by both Sheik films and The Four Horsemen. Back to the magazine, this is not a common item; however it will not cost you top dollar to add it to your collection. I am still looking for this one myself.
The Eagle Spanish Tobacco Card
This is a color card from the 30's depicting Valentino from the film, The Eagle. I am unsure if the card is a tobacco or a chocolate card. Regardless, this is a great variation of a card depicting Valentino. As with most of these cards they are not overly valuable they just need to be added to the collection.

Glass Slide from The Eagle
This is a glass slide from the film, "The Eagle." I found this image from the website, emovieposters. These are quite collectible and can be valuable depending on the condition along with the color combinations. Many of these were hand painted and many are cracked or broken. These are truly unique items to collect.

Lobby Card from The Eagle
This is a Lobby Card from the film, "The Eagle." Imagine walking up to a theater in 1925, where the studio was selling the name Valentino along with his latest film, The Eagle. Posters, Lobby Cards, Window Cards, possibly programs. The theater had to be decked out in Valentino items, a collector's dream. I do have a few photos of theaters like this I will post at a later time. The value of half of those types of items by today's standards would be staggering. That is a lot of history for an 11x14 86 year old piece of this thick-stock paper! By the way, this card as all original Eagle lobby cards, except the dead card are very desirable and very valuable.

Spanish Rudolph Valentino Chocolate Card
The is a Spanish Chocolate card from the Amatller Chocolate company out of Barcelona. I believe this card was produced from the 1930's. The card appears to depict a color photo from the film, "The Eagle." While most chocolate and tobacco cards are not extremely valuable. I find them to be a wonderful collectible item from the 20's and 30's that you will not pay an exorbitant amount of money for.

Photos from The Eagle
The following are five photos from the film, The Eagle. I really find this film to be what I call a modern silent film. I feel it serves as a precursor to the action/adventure films of the 1930's. Furthermore, another great Valentino film with many different costumes, and exceptional acting. This ends my movie review, haha, it is a bit comical to think of an Italian playing a Russian soldier, but...it works!

Lobby Card from the film, The Eagle
This is a lobby card from the film, "The Eagle." This particular card is not one of the more common cards seen from the film. Most lobby card sets consists of 8 cards, one of which being a title card. There is a dead card in this set, one that does not depict Valentino in a scene from the film. This is a great colorized version of a hard to find, valuable lobby card. One I am still looking for myself.
