Henry Clive Canco Tins

There are various styles and sizes of the Canco tins for Beautebox. The art is by Henry Clive. There are many different stars featured on the tins many of them are Valentino's co-stars such as Pola Negri, Bebe Daniels, and Gloria Swanson. This first tin is probably the most common, it is the largest of the tins. This one measures 10 inches in diameter, again this is a desireable collectible.

This is the smaller version, this one measures 7.5 inches in diameter. Still fairly common.
This is a different variation of the tin, it has a larger black border, with a blue border around the outside. I do not own this tin, I have never seen this version out anywhere, so I have to assume this one is harder to find.

This is the rectangular version, it measures 8 inches from side to side. These are much more difficult to find that the round versions, there is a wooden inlay under the lid.

This is by far the rarest version of the tin. I have never seen this, so I have no information about this tin, except I do not have it, and I really need this! I think this one is very unique because of the scene from The Sheik.

  1. How much would the smaller tin with the larger black border be worth in good condition?

  2. Prices on all of the tins vary so much from antique mall to ebay. I have seen these sell from $30 to $80. On ebay they average around $40 to $50. Occasionally on ebay if you get a few people fighting over one because of excellent condition, they will bring in a bit more. This variation is more difficult to find.

  3. I have the rectangular tin with valentino on the lid and scenes from The Sheik on all four sides. I am interested in selling it. Are you interested in it?

  4. Thank you for contacting me, if you could click on my profile over to the right of the page and email me a few photos of it and what you want for it we could go from there. Thanks and have a great day.

  5. I have a small tin Beautebox with the picture of Rudolph Valentino which measures about 4 inches in diameter. Do you have any idea what it may be worth?

    1. I assume you are talking about the round tin. Prices for these are all over the place on ebay. I have seen them sell in the range of $25-$75 depending of the condition. I hope that helps, thanks for your question, good luck.

  6. I bought the 4 inch tin of Valentino today at an antique store in Wisconsin. I can't share a picture of it.
