Son of the Sheik Miniatures by Arline Smith

Typically I am not a big fan of homemade collectibles; however, I received an email from Arline Smith who creates handmade miniatures. She has painstakingly re-created a scene from The Son of the Sheik. These are handmade, one of a kind items. A great deal of work went into creating these, according to Arlene: "The fabric patterns were produced using a variety of processes, including hand-painting, printing and appliqué, but some liberties were taken with the bed fabric; to reproduce the original in miniature would have made the bed too fussy and over-worked. The candelabra and hanging light are electrified, and the scene is lit with miniature spotlights and coloured gels. In all, it took five months to complete." You can visit Arlene's website at

If you would like to contact her directly, contact me and I will forward you her email address. I think this is a great interpretation of this scene from The Son of the Sheik.
