Rudolph Valentino The Silent Idol

I hope everyone have a great Christmas. I received quite a few fantastic gifts, especially Valentino items, which I will be posting over the next few days. This happens to be one of them, Rudolph Valentino, The Silent Idol, by Donna Hill. This is a fantastic book of rare photographs of Valentino through his early childhood, his time before his movie career, his films, and memorial photos after his death. The book consists of 224 pages of candids and rarely seen photographs of Valentino. I was very pleased to see a few of the photos I sent to Donna appeared in the book. This is a must have for any Valentino collector or fan, the photos are fantastic!

  2. I am glad to hear you have a copy as well. It is great that someone has finally created a book of photographs, especially, rare and unreleased photos. There are suppose to be a few more Valentino books in the works, hopefully they will be released soon.

  3. Believe it or not, I just got my copy of this. It was on my Christmas wish list but somebody dropped the ball. Had to gift it to myself.
I was thrilled with the many wonderful candids, especially those of Our Hero clowning around.
It's also a good, concise general bio. It provides a good timeline of Rudy's life and career; a great tool, I'm sure, for fans that don't want to read a lengthy biography.
Thanks to Donna Hill for putting all these wonderful photos together in what was obviously a labor of love. I don't see how any Valentino collection can be without this jewel of a book.
