Photos from Blood and Sand
These are five hard to find photos from the 1922 film, "Blood and Sand." Blood and Sand was a great movie with a great script. I found it to be very well acted and well filmed, even though the studio's original plan was to film part of the film in Spain, which did not happen. There are hundreds of thousands of stills from most of Valentino's more popular films, most of these stills are not too common. Four of the five photos are from Frau Wulf's website.

Very nice Brad. You never cease to amaze me when with the quality of pictures you aquire. This is why I continue to be flabbergasted by garbage like "Silent Life", or that Vlad guy pulling on Rudy's coat tails. Nobody, especially his mimics, can capture Rudy. He offered a magic to the screen that will never again be seen. Some of the finest photos taken of valentino have come from this film.
ReplyDeleteGood point, Blood and Sand had delivered a great deal of memorable poses of Valentino. They seem to depict his true acting abilities in this film. His character goes through a roller coaster of emotions in this film which I feel contributed to his fantastic performance, possibly the best of his career.
ReplyDeleteagreed and it was one of his finest as far as the visual element is concered. I just finished reading dark lover and he really became his characters. Even in many of his lesser acclaimed films like Sainted Devil and Cobra (which I thought was a fine film) he really went for the Stanislavsky school of becoming a persona. Only few actors I see now go for that.
