Autographed Photo to Jean Acker

This is an awesome Autographed photo addressed to Valentino's first wife, Jean Acker. Even though he and Jean still have one of the shortest Hollywood marriages on record, they remained close friends throughout his life. The photo reads: "To my beloved wife Jean, May the light of love and happiness shine always with you, Rodolfo." Due to the fact this autographed photo is adressed to his first wife makes this photo even more valuable, it is definitely a one of a kind.

3 Different Valentino Commemorative Stamps

These are three Commemorative Stamps depicting Valentino. The first is a Stamp from Italy depicting Valentino from The Son of the Sheik.

This is the only US stamp that depicts Valentino. This is one in a series of stamps from Al Hirschfeld commorating silent stars. The stamp is from 1991, it depicts Valentino in his gaucho outfit from The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. I hope that someday Valentino will be a part of the Hollywood Legends series.
This stamp is from the Republic of Senegal. I am unsure where this country is, but it is a great depiction of Valentino from A Sainted Devil.

Ad for Valentino Biography

This is an ad for the 1966 book, Valentino, An Intimate and Shocking Expose. It is not too common to see an advertisement for a book. I am unsure what magazine or book this appeared in.

A Sainted Devil Movie Star Tablet

This is a movie star tablet depicting Valentino from A Sainted Devil. I believe these tablets featured various movie star and was produced in the 1930's. These are not easy to find, especially in good shape.

Stamped Signautre Fan Photos

These are two fan photos with a stamped signature of Valentino's on the photo. Fans were able to send in 25 cents to recieve on of these studio photos. These stamped signature photos are often mistaken for actual autographs.

Monsieur Beaucaire Bust

This is a plaster bust of Valentino from the film, Monsieur Beaucaire. This bust is dated and signed by Jean Del Val, 1924. Jean Del Val was a bit actor who appeared in A Sainted Devil with Valentino. He is pictured below. I believe this is a one of a kind item and is not mass produced. I am unsure if it was made for Valentino or for someone else. The Valentino signature looks like his signature, I wonder if he actually signed it.

Update: I would like to credit Stairway to the Stars for this piece. I am also adding a photo sent to me by Rick Spector. The photo shows this piece on display at an exhibit at The Long Island Museum in 2005, the exhibit also shows an original costume from Monsieur Beaucaire.

Tobacco Card from 1922

This is a Tobacco Card from 1922. This card was produced by the Egyptian Prettiest Cigarette Company. The back of the card lists a few of Valentino's films including the ones he had bit parts in. This was during the time the studios re-released the pictures to cash in on Valentino's stardom.

Valentino Paintings

These are two paintings of Valentino. These paintings depict a very good likeliness of him. I am unsure of the artists of these paintings to give them credit. There are many paintings of Valentino, some of them are very valuable.

Letters from Alberto Valentino and Natacha Rambova

These are two great letters from Valentino's family members. The first one is from Valentino's brother, Alberto. This letter is a thank you letter to Earl Carlisle for arranging for a plane to fly overhead at the funeral service while dropping rose petals, which is still done today. Albert signed the letter Alberto Guglielmi Valentino. The way he signs Valentino is amazing identical to Rudy's signature.
This is an unknown letter signed by Natacha. I am unsure how she normally signed her name; however, I am very surprised she signed it Natacha Valentino. The first time I heard these names together was when I say the photo of this letter.

The Son of the Sheik Italian Lobby Cards

These are two oversized Italian Lobby Cards from the film, "The Son of the Sheik." These oversized Italian cards are made of a poster style paper stock instead of the thicker lobby card stock. These are great examples of lobby cards and are not easy to find.

Photos from The Sheik

These are five photos from the film, "The Sheik." This was truly the film that launched Valentino into stardom. The term Sheik was introduced to America. This film was based on the controversial book from E.M. Hull about this Arab Sheik who obducts a white women, takes her out to the desert and rapes her. Even more controversial was that E.M. Hull was a women who wrote this book, Edith Maude Hull.

Tobacco Cards from Cobra

These are two Tobacco Cards depicting Valentino from the film, "Cobra." Both cards show the same pose. The first card is from The Westminster Tobacco Company. The second, surprisingly does not indicate the brand of cigarette. Tobacco cards served two purposes, to get people to buy their product for the cards and second, to have something out there that advertised their brand, a way of marketing. These cards are not too rare, they are fairly easy to find.
