Rudolph Valentino turns 120 Today, Happy Birthday

I hope all of you enjoyed Valentino's 120th Birthday today.  I have yet to purchase any Valentino items or watch a Valentino movie; however, I still have a few hours before bed.

This post features a color Henry Waxman photo.  It appears to be colorized and almost looks to be an art print of some type.  Unfortunately,  I do not own this item, this is just one of the thousands of images I saved from the internet over the years.  A classic Valentino stare!  Enjoy the rest of Rudy's Birthday!

These are five photos from the film, "The Sheik." This was truly the film that launched Valentino into stardom. The term Sheik was introduced to America. This film was based on the controversial book from E.M. Hull about this Arab Sheik who obducts a white women, takes her out to the desert and rapes her. Even more controversial was that E.M. Hull was a women who wrote this book, Edith Maude Hull.

Stamped Signature Photo with Envelope

This is one of the many stamped autographed photos that were sent out to fans for a 25 cent fee. This particular photo has the original envelope, which is not easy to find. There are many different photos that were sent out to fans with a stamped signature. This one is my favorite pose. These are commonly mistaken for real autographs, so be careful these are only stamped signatures.

This is a very rare stamped autographed photo. There were many stamped signature photos sent out to fans for a 25 cent fee. However, this is a photo from The Hooded Falcon, which was a film about the Moors that was never finished. There are very few stills of the movie in exsistance. I was surprised to see this stamped signature fanmail photo. Very rare and very valuable.
