87 years ago today, Rudolph Valentino passed away in a New York hospital. He was in New York promoting his latest film, The Son of the Sheik. This film would go on to be a great success, quite possibly due to the fact that it was his last film. Valentino was hospitalized while in New York, many speculated it was a promotional ploy to draw attention to Valentino and his new film. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Valentino passed away at 12:10 on the afternoon of the 23rd at the age of 31. The outcry from fellow actors and especially fans would spread worldwide. Remember Valentino today, I will leave you with a one of his poems from Daydreams: "Powerless" When I see a look of sadness, In the eyes of You, Thoughts of grief akin to madness Surge my being through. Am I then so weak and helpless, That I can not send Even shadowings of sorrows To their deserved end.

British Edition of Daydreams with Dustcover
This is an update post of the British Edition of Daydreams. I posted this book a while back. I recently obtained this book with the original dust cover. This book of poetry wrote by Valentino himself is a rare book, the British edition is more scarce than the U.S. edition. This particular book has the original dust cover. The dust cover for Daydreams is extremely rare to find. The dust cover is made of a thin paper stock and many did not survive throughout the years. This edition of Daydreams has to rank in the top 5 among the rarest Valentino books. One of the rarest, How You Can Keep Fit, Valentino's other book is one I am still looking for.

London Edition of Daydreams by Rudolph Valentino
This is a very rare edition of Daydreams, which is Valentino's book of poetry. This is the blue hardback edition of Daydreams from London. If anyone has a photo of the dust cover for this book, please send me a photo. This book is extremely rare, I am unsure if a dust cover even exists.

Valentino's Personal Copy of Daydreams
Ok, it does not get much better than this as far as books are concerned. This is Valentino's own personal copy of his book of poetry, Daydreams. It has his own personal book plate on the inside cover of the book. I can not imagine what this book would be valued at, name your price for this one of a kind book. I would love to own this!
