Monsieur Beaucaire Photoplay Book

This is the photoplay book edition of Monsieur Beaucaire by Booth Tarkington. The book was published in 1924 by Grosset and Dunlap. This is the hardback with the dust cover. This book is fairly prevelant, not too difficult to find.

Beyond the Rocks Photoplay Book

This is the photoplay book edition of Beyond the Rocks by Elinor Glyn. The book was published in 1922 by Maculay. It is a hardback book with the dust cover. This photoplay edition includes photos of Valentino and Gloria Swanson throughout the book; however, the book cover only depicts Gloria Swanson. It is moderately difficult to find.

Beauty Contest Flyer

This is a flyer advertising the appearance of Valentino at a beauty contest at Madison Square Garden in New York from 1923. During this time Valentino was having contract disputes with Paramount which freed him up to attend events such as this. The event was filmed at entitled Rudolph Valentino and his 88 American Beauties.

Picture Show Annual

This is a hardback Picture Show Annual book from 1926. These came out at the end of the year as a year in review as many magazines do today. 1926 was the year Valentino died, but instead of depicting his current and last film, The Son of the Sheik, they chose a film from 1924, The Sainted Devil for the cover. I have read that many people did not see films with people who passed away, thus these films where not overly marketed; however, I am unsure why this film was chosen. Moderately difficult to find, these are not common, but not extremely rare, still sought after though.

Lobby Cards from The Delicious Little Devil

These are two lobby cards from the 1919 film, The Delicious Little Devil. Again, Valentino had a small part and is not credited, but does appear on these lobby cards. There are very difficult to find.

A Couple of Plaques

I saw these plaques on ebay a few years ago. Unfortunately, I do not have any other information about their age, size, or origin. Two things I do know: They exist and I do not have them...yet.
I have some updated information about the first plaque, it is from the Jim Craig Collection.

Photos from A Rogue's Romance

These three photos are from the film, A Rogue's Romance from 1919. This was another movie in which Valentino played a small part. Again, notice he is not credited in the first photo. Original photos from his earlier days very hard to find, re-issued items are more prevalent.

Motion Picture Magazines

Original magazines, especially ones in color with Valentino on the cover, have become very sought after and very valuable. Most of these types of Magazines go for a few hundred dollars. This particular one is from February of 1922.

This Motion Picutre Magazine is from September of 1926. This issue came out after his death, it depicts photos and stories about his career.

The Motion Picture Magazine is dated January of 1923, it depicts Valentino with his wife Natacha Rambova.

2 Valentino Paperback Books

These are a couple of paperback books from the same authors, Chaw Mank and Brad Steiger. The books are simply titled Valentino. This particular book is one of my favorite paperback covers. It is a colorized photo from The Young Rajah. It was published in 1966 by Corgi Books. It is not a common book, moderately difficult to find.
This edition was published in 1975 by Manor Books. This is a much easier copy to find.

Another Rare German The Son of the Sheik Movie Poster

This is an extremely rare German movie poster from The Son of the Sheik. I am unsure if it is a re-issue or an original, either way it is a fantastic poster that is a rare find.

The Isle of Love Movie Poster

This is a rare movie poster from The Isle of Love. This is a film from 1918 Valentino had a bit part in; however, when his career took off the movie studios decided to re-release some of his early films. They re-spliced the films to make it appear that Valentino was the star of the film, even though in most he had supporting roles. This was the case with The Isle of Love which was re-released in 1922. Even the movie poster appears to give him a starring role.

Rare German The Son of the Sheik Poster

This is an awesome, rare German Son of the Sheik Movie Poster. This particular poster is very difficult to find, not to mention is probably valued over $10,000, so if you have one laying around send it my way, thanks!

Valentino by Irving Shulman

This book along with Alexander Walker's book is probably the most common biography about Valentino. This book can easily be found at Antique Malls and Book Shops. It is titled Valentino, by Irving Shulman. This hardback with dust cover was published in 1967 by Trident Press.


This is the paperback edition of the same book. It was published in 1968 by pocket books. This is a little more difficult to find than the hardback; however, it is still a very common book.

This is the French paperback edition, titled Valentino L'amant Du Monde. This is the Rene Chateau Edition, it was published in 1976. It is the most difficult edition of the book to find; however, I would not consider it a rare book.

The Sons of the Sheik Books

This is The Sons of the Sheik, by E.M. Hull. The book was published in 1925 by the A.L. Burt Company. A few things to note, this is the sequel to The Sheik, could this have started the first movie sequel? I am unaware of any other movie sequel before this time, which is interesting. Furthermore, this book does not picture Valentino on the cover. The book was published in 1925, a year before the movie was released. This is still a sought after items by Valentino collectors.

The UK edition did feature Valentino on the cover. It was published in 1926 by Eveleigh Nash and Grayson. This edition is harder to find than the American version, especially with the dust cover.

The Eagle Photoplay Book

This is the UK book edition of The Eagle by Hater Preston and Henry Savage. This book was published in 1925 by The Reader's Library. This is a hardback with a dust cover. This is a difficult book to find with the dust cover.

Glass Slide from Cobra

This is a fantastic glass slide from the film, "Cobra." This is my all time favorite Glass Slide, not only because Cobra is my favorite film; it is because of the fantastic depiction of Valentino with the Cobra along with the vibrant colors. I am on the lookout for this one!

Autographed Photo of Rudolph Valentino

This is an excellent example of a personalized autographed photo, these are getting more and more difficult to find. The prices on these autographed photos are starting to go up in the thousands, even over $10,000. I would say the average range is $1000 to $5000. It all depends on the photo, the condition of the photo, the size of the photo, if it is personalized and if the signature is still bold or faded.

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Movie Poster

This is a poster from the film, The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. This was Valentino's first starring role. Not all of the movie posters from this film depict Valentino, this rare version does. This would be a very valuable and very sought after poster.

Rare Rudolph Valentino Silk Scarf

A Rudolph Valentino Scarf? Oh Yeah, there are much more random Valentino items out there than this item. I am unsure of the origin or age; however, I believe it to be vintage. If anyone comes across this one, let me know. I would like to own it!
