A few weeks back I posted the coat from Blood and Sand. This is the entire Suit of Lights from the film Blood and Sand. This was in the Debbie Reynolds collection and was just auctioned off for $210,000! This is an absolutely amazing price for an authentic Valentino worn costume. Too bad I do not have a couple hundred grand lying around for authentic costumes.

That suit of lights is a work of art. I wonder if 'bryan from LA' bought it :)
ReplyDeleteIt really is, I wonder if a Valentino collector purchased it or some type of investor. Something like that can only increase in value.
ReplyDeleteI hope it was a fan, but articles like this need to be kept in such a delicate manner.
ReplyDeleteAlso to add, I checked out the rest of the items that was being auctioned off, Marilyn Monroe's items went for the millions. Glad this was one the items that went for quite a bit :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I cannot imagine the upkeep of an item such as that. It's not like you put it on a hanger and throw it in the closet. I am sure someone has a not empty climate controlled case waiting for it.
ReplyDeleteHello Brad. I love your blog. You have such a adept knowledge of these items. I admire that. That is an amazing peice, and the fact that it is so well maintained is very impressive.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I appreciate it. I enjoy working on the blog, and creating a giant collector's catalog. I also enjoy getting acquainted with all of the fans and collectors.
ReplyDeleteYou have certainly created a special think with this blog, for both those reasons you mentioned.
ReplyDeleteI'm been all over it and still keep finding new things everyday. It's so much fun!
I am glad to hear that! When I firs started posting I was posting upwards of 20 or so a day for people who was viewing it for the first time to be able to see a variety of things. Back then I did not add a great deal of information, I also listed smaller pictures. Whenever I have the time, hahaha, I would like to go back to add information and add larger photos. Maybe a little at a time.
ReplyDeleteFunny you said that, because I was just thinking what a task it must have been to get it up and running initially.
