This is a lobby card from the 1921 film, "Camille." This was the fourth of five films Valentino made in 1921. This film was released right before The Sheik. Alla Nazimova, a popular Russian silent star, was given top billing for the film. The set designer for the film was Natacha Rambova, this is where they met for the first time.
The lobby card, as all other cards from Valentino's films is valuable and highly sought after. This particular card lacks the vibrant colors that other films offer; however, it is still a wonderful lobby card. There are not a great deal of items out there from Camille.

nice layout from this card.
ReplyDeleteA stunner. I find the images from this film so stylized, artistic and white-hot. Natacha's touch perhaps. Do you have this in your collection?
ReplyDeleteI love the layout of this card as well. Yes, the sets of this film are probably the most artistic of Valentino's films. Very, very art deco, which I love. Unfortunately, I do not have this in my collection. I have very few items from Camille.
