This is an extremely rare photo of Valentino from the unmade 1924 film, "The Hooded Falcon." This was to be the story of the Moor's. There were many reasons why this film never came to fruition, one of which was the overspending of Rudy and Natacha's trip overseas to obtain authentic antiques and clothing for the film. The studio could not afford what the Valentino's had in mind. Many look toward Natacha for her ridiculous demands and causing a riff with Rudy and June Mathis. It was rumored that Nita Naldi was to co-star in the film as well and was sent to Paris for costume fittings.
There are only a few surviving photos of Valentino in costume, this is an extremely rare photo depicting Valentino in this role.
Update: One of our loyal blog followers, Bob, has touched up the photo, I wanted to post it for everyone to see, thanks again Bob!

Rare Photos from The Hooded Falcon
These are five rare photos from the film, "The Hooded Falcon." A bit of information about the Hooded Falcon, this film was never finished. This was to be a film about The Moors. The overpriced and lavish costumes and set design requested by the Valentinos, most likely Natacha, caused the film to be grossly over budget which eventually caused the studio to abandon the project. Anything from the film is extremely difficult to find. There is no known footage in existence. There are however a few photos from the film which again are very hard to come by, that is why a couple of these are poor quality. The first photo came from the Jim Craig Collection. If anyone else has any Hooded Falcon items I would love to post them.

Stamped Signature Photo from The Hooded Falcon
This is a very rare stamped autographed photo. There were many stamped signature photos sent out to fans for a 25 cent fee. However, this is a photo from The Hooded Falcon, which was a film about the Moors that was never finished. There are very few stills of the movie in exsistance. I was surprised to see this stamped signature fanmail photo. Very rare and very valuable.
