Postcards from Blood and Sand

These are five postcards from the 1922 film Blood and Sand. I find postcards to be a great, reasonable collectible. Often original postcards from the 20's depict unique or rarely seen poses. I try to display as many postcards as I can in my Valentino office; however, my space is limited. Anyway, I digress, these postcards are not overly valuable but great additions to any collection.

Five Postcards from The Son of the Sheik

These are five different postcards from the film, “The Son of the Sheik.” Two of these are Ross card from Berlin; the other three are colorized cards. Postcards are a great way to collect some affordable items from the 20’s. Most are relatively inexpensive and easy to find. My favorites are the Beagles cards which have the art-deco raised frame around the card. Some of the original colorized cards tend to be desirable as well.

Photos with Valentino Movie Advertisements

The first item is a photo from London, dated 1924. The photo depicts a traffic police officer directing traffic, in the background there is a billboard for the film, "A Sainted Devil." Imagine what that billboard would be worth today. I would love to own one, but, where would you display it, on the side of your house? The second item, a postcard, depicts Denbigh in Wales with a movie theatre in the background with a large advertisement for the film, Blood and Sand. I find both of these items unique, they are snapshots in time that show Valentino's movies at the theater.

Five Different Rudolph Valentino Postcards

These are five different postcards, some are candids, some are studio portraits. Postcards are a reasonable, original, vintage item that can purchased for a very reasonable price. My personal favorite are the Beagles postcards with the beveled edges, they tend to be a bit more pricey as well. I also find it interesting that most Valentino post cards I have come across are unused, which increases the value as well. I assume most people bought them and put them away as a memento.

This is a postcard from the Valentino Memorial which is located in Castellaneta Italy, Valentino's birthplace. I hope to be able to visit this someday.

Rudolph Valentino Publicity Postcards

These are five postcards that depict Valentino in various publicity poses. Most of these postcards are very common; however still very collectible. Most of the Valentino postcards in my collection are unused, which makes the postcard more valuable. Most fans bought these postcards to keep as momentos instead of something to mail to someone else.

These are five postcards from the film, "The Son of the Sheik," This of course was Valentino's last film, along with one of his most popular. These postcards are great collectibles, reasonably priced, and not too difficult to find.

These are five postcards from the film, "The Son of the Sheik." The top three post cards are Beagles Postcards from London. These are my favorite postcards, I really like the beveled edges and the occasional colorization of some of the cards. I have a few of these in my collection, they tend to be more expensive than other postcards. The other two are German Ross Cards, also highly collectible, but, they are more common than the Beagles.

These are five postcards from the film, Monsieur Beaucaire. This was Valentino's first film after a two year absence from the screen due to a dispute with Paramount. Overall, the film was a moderate success.

These are five great postcards from the film, "Blood and Sand." Most of these postcards are from overseas. Most of these are fairly common.

Various Candid Postcards

These are five postcards depicting Valentino during different times of his life. The first one is a studio style photo. The second one shows him sparring with a boxing partner as Jack Dempsey oversees the bout. The third one shows Valentino with his smoking pipe. The next one is a colorzied photo from Mae Murray's wedding. The final one is a photo of Valentino and Natacha from the Mineralava dancing tour.

Postcards from The Eagle

These are five different postcards from the 1925 film, "The Eagle." The top one is colorized and is not a common card. Most postcards are very common and very affordable.
