French Son of the Sheik Lighter

This is a Zippo Lighter from 1998, it reads Rudolph Valentino, Le Fils Du Cheik. I am unsure why an American Lighter company would write The Son of the Sheik in French, unless this was marketed in France. If anyone has any information, let me know.

    I have an old lighter looks like an early day bic on the knob it says Sheik inbetween two lines going across I don, t know where it came from it was in my farthers collection of lighters and pipes. It is has some type of paper covering that is coming off could you help me figure out what it is .
