1923 Rudolph Valentino Movie Weekly

This is a Movie Weekly Magazine from January of 1923. It depicts Valentino in a pair of workout trunks and shoes. The photo was taken from his book, "How you can keep fit." Since this was a weekly publication, Valentino was often featured on the cover. This magazine is made from a thin newspaper-like paper stock, so to find them in mint condition is difficult. They seem to be some of the more common magazines you can find from the 20's but are still very sought after.

Photos from the film, Camille

These are five photos from the film, "Camille." Released in 1921, this was one of five films Valentino starred in this year. This film co-starred Alla Nazimova, a Russian actress who was quite popular at the time. The set for this film was designed by Natacha Rambova, her and Valentino met on the set, two years later they were married. This film is not one of my favorites; however, I do enjoy the art-deco set designs Natacha created for the film.

Swedish Allt for Alla Monsieur Beaucaire Magazine

This is a wonderful color Swedish magazine call Allt for Alla, which translates to All in All. The cover is a colorized photo of Valentino from the film, Monsieur Beaucaire. This is not a common magazine, the unique foreign magazines are my favorite, they often depicts photos or drawings I have never seen before.

Lobby Card from the film, A Sainted Devil

This is an awesome lobby card from the lost film, "A Sainted Devil." This is an excellent example of a rare, sought after lobby card from 1924. The card has great colors and is not seen very often, definitely a tough card to find.

1926 Evening Graphic Rudolph Valentino Magazine

This is a great newspaper-style magazine from August of 1926 called the Evening Graphic. This is a commemorative issue after Valentino's death. The cover depicts a very strong photo of Valentino with a white collar around his neck. There are many magazines and newspapers depicting Valentino, especially after his death; however, all are still very sought after, especially ones from the 20's and the early 30's.

Photos from The Eagle

These are five fantastic photos from the 1925 film, "The Eagle." This film directed by Clarence Brown, and co-starring Vilma Banky was a surprisingly good film. Valentino pulls off the role of a Russian soldier with Banky as his love interest. I thought the film was full of great costume changes for Valentino and the story line included moments of levity and extree drama. If you have not seen this film, I highly recommend it. Most copies available are very clear and in great shape.

Metal Sheik Rudolph Valentino Bust

This is a metal bust of Valentino from the film, "The Son of the Sheik," that simply reads: "Valentino." I am unsure of the age or the origin, this is one of the many different kinds of busts produced to commemorate Valentino. Most busts of Valentino were produced in the late 20's and early 30's, along with some in the 70's. This bust would not be prohibitive, but, a fairly sought after piece for someone like myself who does not have it in my collection.

The Sheik Lobby Card

This is a lobby card from the film, "The Sheik." This is a very dramatic scene from the film. These are very sought after from collectors, The Sheik being one of Valentino's most popular films. The Sheik was the first Valentino film I saw one late night on AMC, the rest is history! Anyway, this card is very valuable.

A Rogue's Romance Lobby Card

This is a lobby card from the film, "A Rogue's Romance." This film was originally released in 1919, before Valentino had any starring roles in films. In 1922 Vitagraph re-released the film to capitalize on Valentino's success. The star of the film was Earle Williams, he starred in 19 films from 1919 to 1922, this was another reason to re-release this film, thus the new movie material, from 1922, billed both actors. Even though this lobby card is not from 1919 it is still a very valuable lobby card. It is not as sought after as Valentino's starring roles.

Photos from Blood and Sand

These are five photos from the film, Blood and Sand. Many considered this one of his best acting roles. Released in 1922, this was Valentino's next big hit after The Sheik. In my opinion this is a great film co-starring Lila Lee and Nita Naldi. Nita Naldi is a fantastic vamp in this film, it is easy to see why Rudy could not resist her!

1933 Italian Rudolph Valentino Eagle Magazine

This is a fantastic Italian magazine from 1933. It is unique because it depicts a colorized photo of Valentino on the cover, instead of a color drawing. It depicts Valentino in his Russian uniform from the film, The Eagle. This is not a common magazine and is quite difficult to find.

Rudolph Valentino Bust

This is a fantastic photo of a Valentino bust sent to me by Rick Spector. The bust is a great likeness of Valentino, the base depicts someone behind a movie camera filming a scene. This is a very unique piece and would be highly valuable.

A Sainted Devil Movie Program

This is a movie program from the film, "A Sainted Devil." The program is from England and is not a common program. Most of these programs are highly collectible and are fairly reasonably priced compared to original lobby cards and movie posters.

Beyond the Rocks Lobby Card

This is a lobby card from the film," Beyond the Rocks." Original lobby cards from this film are very valuable and not as easy to find as some of Valentino's other films. I personally like lobby cards from this film because of the vibrant colors on the cards.

Photos of Rudolph Valentino from A Sainted Devil

These are five rare photos from the lost film, "A Sainted Devil." Having never seen the film, the costumes make it appear to be a cross between The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and Blood and Sand. I feel the items from lost films are more sought after by collectors.

The Life and Loves of Rudolph Valentino

This is a very rare booklet from 1926. It is entitled "The Life and Loves of Rudolph Valentino." This soft bound booklet is 30 pages long and has various photos of Valentino from his films. The back of each photo in the book reads, "Other side for framing purposes if you so desire." There are articles in the book from Dorothy Herzog, Edward J. Doherty, and C.F. Zittel. This appears to be a supplemental booklet produced by a magazine or newspaper. The article from C.F. Zittel is sited from "Zit's Weekly Newspaper." This is the only copy of this book I have ever come across. This book is extremely rare, and quite valuable.

A Sainted Devil Swedish Movie Program

This is a fantastic Swedish movie program/herald from the film, "A Sainted Devil." The art used for the front of this program is the same art used for the Swedish movie poster. This is a great item from a lost film.

Rudolph Valentino Autographed Page

This is a great Valentino autograph, most likely from a scrapbook of some sort. This particular signature is unique in the fact that it is dated and shows where he signed it, London. This is when he went to Europe in 1923. This would be a great piece if it was framed and mounted with a few photos of Valentino from this trip!

London Edition of Daydreams by Rudolph Valentino

This is a very rare edition of Daydreams, which is Valentino's book of poetry. This is the blue hardback edition of Daydreams from London. If anyone has a photo of the dust cover for this book, please send me a photo. This book is extremely rare, I am unsure if a dust cover even exists.
